FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to an absorber for removing carbon dioxide from gas mixtures, a method for its preparation, as well as a method for cleaning gas mixtures from carbon dioxide. A carbon dioxide absorber containing potassium carbonate deposited on a porous matrix of zirconium dioxide aerogel in the amount of 71-91 wt.%, the rest is potassium carbonate, is proposed. A variant of the method for preparation of the absorber is described. A method for cleaning gas mixtures from carbon dioxide is also described. In the proposed method, carbon dioxide is isolated from the mixture by the proposed absorbers, while CO2 is isolated from gas mixtures at a temperature of 10-50°C and a partial pressure of CO2 at the sorption stage in a gas mixture of 10 Pa - 0.5 kPa periodically with the process of thermal regeneration of the absorber at a temperature of 150-300°C. This method can be used for the adsorption release of carbon dioxide from atmospheric air and flue gases, ventilation systems.

EFFECT: group of inventions provides a high and stable sorption capacity of the regenerated absorber during operation.
