FIELD: mechanical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of mechanical engineering; it can be used when obtaining cylindrical shells with screw grooves on the inner surface. After the shell is installed in a machine chuck, a device for cutting screw grooves is introduced in its cavity. The longitudinal movement of the device is performed under the action of traction force of a machine with simultaneous turning. The device contains a rod, on which a block of cutting mandrels arranged in increments of P≥Lzag, where Lzag is a length of the cylindrical shell, is fixed. Cutting cogs have a lifting angle equal to a lifting angle of screw grooves and not exceeding 45°. A number of mandrels in the block depends on a number of screw grooves on the inner surface of the shell and a number of cogs of one mandrel. The angular position of one cutting cog corresponds to the angular position of one cut screw groove.
EFFECT: possibility of cutting screw grooves on cylindrical shells of different dimension-types is provided.
