FIELD: personal hygiene products.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions concerns a complex containing a cationic antibacterial agent and a metal salt, and a composition for personal hygiene containing such a complex. The proposed complex contains a cationic antibacterial agent - cetylpyridinium salt and zinc salt, where the zinc salt is selected from zinc chloride, zinc sulfate, zinc nitrate, zinc bromide and zinc citrate. In particular, the complex is a complex of cetylpyridinium chloride and zinc chloride. The composition for personal hygiene contains the abovementioned complex, a surfactant and a carrier acceptable from the point of view of cosmetology.
EFFECT: use of the above-mentioned complex of cationic antibacterial agent and zinc salt provides antimicrobial efficacy even in the presence of anionic surfactant.
