FIELD: pharmacology.
SUBSTANCE: two-component composition for zinc delivery into the body which comprises (i) the first component comprising a tetrabasic zinc-amino acid-halide complex, and (ii) the second component containing oxidized cysteine in free form or in the form of orally or cosmetically acceptable salts, wherein the first and second components are kept separate from each other prior to dosing and combined for application to the body; wherein the complex is formed from a tetrabasic zinc chloride, the amino acid is lysine, and the pH of the first component is from 7 to 11. A method to kill bacteria, reduce perspiration and/or reduce the smell of sweat; method to kill bacteria, or reduce the frequency of acne or local skin infections treatment; as well as a method to reduce the biofilm formed by bacteria and plaque are proposed, which include the use of an agent comprising the above composition.
EFFECT: rapid precipitation achieved by mixing the two components provides effective delivery of the zinc comprising complex to the body.
