FIELD: nuclear technology.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of nuclear energy and can be used in reactor installations (RU) of the IV generation with heavy liquid metal heat carriers, in particular with lead coolant. The passive device for stopping the feed water supply to the RU with a heavy liquid-metal coolant is designed to block the supply of feed water to steam generators with an abnormal decrease in its pressure below the value calibrated for the beginning of emergency solidification of the specified coolant. The device is made on the basis of high-pressure shut-off valves and is mounted on a section of the feed water pipeline before entering the steam generator. The mentioned shut-off valve is a springless through-cut-off valve, the locking element of which can move from the operational position to the emergency position under the influence of gravity. The locking element is maintained in the operational position (when the specified valve is open) due to the effect of feed water pressure on the cornice protrusion on its side surface against gravity. The device is equipped with a bypass valve connected in parallel to the shut-off valve and ensuring the opening of the latter when the feed pumps are turned on, as well as a pipeline for draining the flow of seals from the body of the shut-off valve into the turbine condenser as part of the RC.
EFFECT: invention makes it possible to increase the reliability of stopping the feed water supply to the RU with a heavy liquid metal coolant.
