FIELD: catalysts.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to catalysts for a Fischer-Tropsch synthesis reaction, and proposed therein is a catalyst from a pure phase of ε/ε' iron carbide for a Fischer-Tropsch synthesis reaction, a method for preparation thereof and a method for Fischer-Tropsch synthesis, wherein the method for preparation includes the following stages: (1) treating nanometer iron powder or nanometer powder of an iron compounds capable of ensuring production of nanometer iron powder using in-situ reduction and H2 to clean the surface at a temperature of 250 to 510°C; (2) pre-treating the material produced at stage (1) using H2 and CO at a temperature of 80 to 180°C, wherein the H2/CO molar ratio is 1.2 to 2.8:1; (3) preparing carbide using the material produced at stage (2), H2 and CO at a temperature of 180 to 280°C, wherein the H2/CO molar ratio is 1.0 to 3.0:1, wherein the nanopowder of an iron compound constitutes at least one substance selected from the group consisting of nanometer powder of iron oxide, nanometer powder of magnetite, nanometer powder of goethite, and nanometer powder of ferric hydroxide.

EFFECT: possibility of preparing a catalyst with 100% pure phase of ε/ε' iron carbide with a lower selectivity for CO2 and CH4 and higher selectivity for the resulting products.
