FIELD: catalysts.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the technical field of catalysts for a Fischer-Tropsch synthesis reaction, and proposed therein is an applied catalyst based on ε/ε' iron carbide for a Fischer-Tropsch synthesis reaction, a method for preparation thereof and a method for Fischer-Tropsch synthesis, wherein the method for preparation includes the following stages: (1) submerging the catalyst carrier in an aqueous solution of a ferric salt, drying and calcining the carrier subjected to submerging, to produce the catalyst precursor; (2) using the catalyst precursor and H2 to reduce the precursor at a temperature of 300 to 550°C; (3) pre-treating the material produced at stage (2) using H2 and CO at a temperature of 90 to 185°C, wherein the H2/CO molar ratio is 1.2 to 2.8:1; (4) preparing carbide using the material produced at stage (3), H2 and CO at a temperature of 200 to 300°C, wherein the H2/CO molar ratio is 1.0 to 3.2:1.

EFFECT: possibility of preparing a catalyst with 100% pure phase of ε/ε' iron carbide as the active phase, wherein the catalyst has a lower selectivity for CO2 and CH4 and higher selectivity for the resulting products.
