SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to systems and methods for removing viscous materials applied to a metal product without damaging the surface of the metal product. The system for removing a viscous material (430) from the surface of a product (410) comprises a flexible seal (110) movable in the direction (H) substantially perpendicular to the surface of the product (410) along the width (W) of the flexible seal between a first position and at least one second position. The flexible seal is therein configured to come into contact with the surface of the product (410) along the width (W) of the flexible seal. The system also comprises a displacement mechanism (120) configured to move the selected parts of the flexible seal (110) in said direction (H) to provide a tight fit of the flexible seal along the width (W) thereof to the surface of the product (410) with a non-flat cross-sectional shape and/or surface unevenness along the width thereof.

EFFECT: provided effective processing of the surface of the product.
