SUBSTANCE: method for air separation by cryogenic distillation in a column system containing first column (8) and second column (9) operating at lower pressure than the first column includes stages of the compression of all supplied air in first compressor (6) until reaching the first output pressure exceeding the first column pressure for at least 1 bar, the direction of the first part f the air at the first output pressure to second compressor (230), and compression of the air until reaching the second output pressure, the cooling and condensation of at least part of the air at the second output pressure in heat exchanger (5), the output of liquid (OL) from the column of the column system, the application of pressure to liquid (37), and evaporation of liquid by heat exchange in heat exchanger (5), and the reduction of pressure of part of compressed air until reaching the second output pressure, at least partial evaporation of specified air (107) in the heat exchanger, the additional heating of the specified air in the heat exchanger, and direction of at least part of this air to second compressor (108).
EFFECT: reduction in energy consumption.
