FIELD: separating gases.
SUBSTANCE: invention proposes a method for producing one or more air separation products in an air separation unit (100) with a first booster compressor (1), a second booster compressor (2), a first turbine (1a), and a distillation column system (10) including a high-pressure column (11) operated at a first pressure level and a low-pressure column (12) operated at a second pressure level. All air supplied into the system (10) in the form of a volume of process air is compressed to a third pressure level, which is at least 3 bar greater than the first pressure level. The first part of the volume of process air at the third pressure level with a temperature from -140 to -70 °C is compressed to a fourth pressure level in the first booster compressor (1). The second part of the volume of process air or a portion of the compressed first amount of process air is expanded to the first pressure level in the first turbine (1a) actuating the first booster compressor (1). A portion of the first volume of process air compressed to the fourth pressure level is heated to -20–40 °C and compressed to a fifth pressure level using the second booster compressor (2).
EFFECT: higher energy efficiency.
