SUBSTANCE: invention relates to message exchange in communication networks. A sender mobile station that transmits a message to a receiver mobile station via the first protocol is informed about the message transmission to the receiver mobile station via another protocol. The sender mobile station can be informed that the message is transmitted to the receiver mobile station via another protocol by a method with a message of location notification containing the indication of that the message is transmitted to the receiver mobile station via another protocol.
EFFECT: providing a notification to a message sender about the message transmission to the supposed receiver via a protocol that may not support a function of notification about location.
