SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the oil and gas industry and can be used during technological work in an underwater well. The tool for measuring the height of the casing hanger consists of a housing located in the upper part of the housing of the upper adapter, made with the possibility of attachment to the drill string. A removable spacer sleeve is installed in the lower part of the housing. The die piston moves when the pressure increases in the radial direction with the die attached to it. The die is made of soft material and contacts the inner surface of the casing string with the possibility of forming an imprint of the grooves of the inner profile of the column head on the die. Inside the housing there are valves with the possibility of applying pressure to the die piston and draining the liquid from the drill string.

EFFECT: reduction in the metal consumption of the tool and an increase in the efficiency of measuring the height of the installation of casing hangers.
