FIELD: radio engineering.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to radio engineering; it can be used to detect radiation sources in large-sized objects. A device includes a spatial structure, a shell of which is entirely or at least a layer of the shell is made of radio-opaque material. Equipment is installed inside the spatial structure, signals from which are transmitted via wired or wireless communication to a control computer. A virtual base station is used as equipment. The spatial structure is erected above or outside an object being examined. In the latter case, the object being examined is transported inside it on its own or in another way.

EFFECT: increase in the accuracy of detecting radiation sources secretly installed in large-sized objects.
