FIELD: information security.

SUBSTANCE: result is achieved by installing at least one fixed sensor inside and/or along the perimeter of the mode object, which can conduct information exchange with base stations of the GSM, and/or UMTS, and/or LTE, and/or NR communication standard, wherein the location of such sensors is known in advance, in addition, a base station is used, in the settings of which changes have been made, which make it possible to request information on nearby base stations from these sensors, such as signal strength and/or signal quality, and/or signal-to-noise ratio, and/or geographical area, and identifiers of neighbouring base stations. Obtained information is compared with the reference and in case of deviation of any parameter by a certain value, a conclusion is made on the possible appearance of an operating virtual base station, wherein depending on which sensor and with which signal level the virtual base station is detected, a conclusion is made on the direction of operation of the virtual base station.

EFFECT: providing the possibility of counteracting attacks made with the help of virtual base stations with respect to subscriber devices located at a secure facility.
