The electronic device 10 is equipped with: a control unit 402; a heating unit 40 that heats the aerosol-forming base material 110 with electrical power supplied from the power supply 21; a voltage conversion circuit 404 that is interposed between the power supply 21 and the heating unit 40 and that converts the voltage of the power supply 21; and a bypass circuit 408 that includes a first switching element 406 arranged in parallel with the voltage converting circuit 404 and which supplies power from the power supply 21 to the heating unit 40 through the first switching element 406 rather than through the voltage converting circuit 404 when the first switching element 406 is included. The control unit 402 is configured to turn on the first switching element 406 when the first condition is satisfied, indicating that the temperature of the heating unit 40 has reached a predetermined temperature.

EFFECT: reducing power consumption in an electronic device such as an aerosol generating device equipped with a voltage conversion circuit.
