SUBSTANCE: invention relates to an apparatus and method for producing a sealed single-dose package opened by tearing (1), containing a first sheet (2) of a semi-rigid plastic material, a second sheet (3) of a flexible plastic material laid on the first sheet (2) of a semi-rigid plastic material and hermetically connected therewith to form a sealed pocket (4) containing a dose of the product (5), and a weakened area (6) made in the central area of the first sheet (2) to direct controlled tearing of the first sheet (2) in the weakened area (6) after bending the sealed package (1), so as to cause formation of an outlet for the product (5) through the first sheet (2). The method for production includes the stage of making at least one notch (7, 9) on the surface (8, 10) of the first sheet (2), constituting the weakened area (6), wherein the notch (7, 9) is made by means of plastic deformation of the material using a notch-making tool (19) with a non-sharp tip, i.e. one with a rounded shape for deformation rather than for cutting. The notch-making tool therein can move from a first position near the first plate to perform deformation in a strip of the semi-rigid material, placed between the first plate and the second plate, wherein the first plate is fixed and the second plate is configured to be moved to move the notch-making tool to a predetermined distance from the first plate to create deformation in the strip of semi-rigid material.
EFFECT: creation of packaging suitable for dosed dispensing of a product.
