FIELD: carbon adsorbent.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a carbon adsorbent with a core-shell structure for use in gas separation, comprising an adsorbent shell and 10–90 vol.% of an inert core, with a porosity of less than 10%. Wherein the specified absorbent shell contains from about 75 to 99 wt.% at least one carbon adsorbent and from about 1 to 25 wt.% at least one binder, while the particle size of the specified adsorbent is from about 0.5 to 5 mm with a sphericity > 0.8, and wherein said adsorbent is characterized by loss on ignition (LOI) at an activation temperature of 200 to 500°C in the range from about 2 wt.% to about 15 wt.%. The invention also relates to a cyclic process for separating bulk gases.
EFFECT: proposed adsorbent has excellent adsorption properties and physical strength.
