FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of sorption equipment, in particular, to methods of production of microporous carbon sorbents on the basis of vegetable stock. The method to produce a carbon adsorbent includes carbonisation of birch wood in inertial medium, which is ground down to fraction of 2-3 mm in the temperature range of 300-800°C with heating speed of 20°C/min, soaking at final temperature for 30 min, subsequent activation in argon atmosphere in presence of solid potassium hydroxide taken in the mass ratio of coal and alkali equal to 1:3, and temperature rise up to 800°C with speed of 10°C/min, soaking at this temperature for 60 min, then washing of product with acid solution, water at temperature of 50°C down to neutral medium and drying.
EFFECT: simplified technology of carbon sorbent production and improved quality characteristics of carbon sorbent.
