A device contains a support element for an arm, a passive working body and a response support for a force applied to the support element for an arm. The support element for an arm has a bandage for an arm to put on an arm. The passive working body is designed to apply force to the support element for an arm. The response support has a response support element and a force transfer element designed to transfer a reaction force to the response support element. The device is designed so that the device does not restrict the freedom of arm movement. The force transfer element is an element for transferring a pressure force, to which, with the possibility of rotation around the axis of rotation, the support element for an arm is connected by means of articulation. The passive working body applies force to the support element for an arm eccentrically relatively to the axis of rotation.
