SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to a method for rectification of ethylene glycol in the production of ethylene glycol from synthesis gas, carried out using a system including sequentially connected column for methanol extraction A, a column for methanol extraction B, column for the purification of light fractions, dealcoholizing column and column for the production of ethylene glycol. The technology additionally includes a column for the purification of heavy fractions, a column for the extraction of light components, an ethanol column, as well as a column for the extraction of ethylene glycol, wherein the column for the extraction of light components is connected to the column for the purification of light fractions, the ethanol column is connected to the column for the extraction of light components, the column for the extraction of ethylene glycol is connected to the dealcoholizing column and the column for the production of ethylene glycol, and the column for the purification of heavy fractions is connected to the column for the extraction of ethylene glycol.

EFFECT: proposed method allows one to improve the quality of the resulting product while reducing energy consumption.
