SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a soft-landing cylinder for absorbing shock loads during installation of subsea production system equipment on the seabed. The soft-fit cylinder contains a metal body in the form of a cylinder and a piston that moves in the body. The body is made with the possibility of attachment with the lowered equipment and connection of the cathodic protection to it, and the piston is made with the possibility of contacting with the seabed. Holes are made in the body with the possibility of passing sea water and damping the impact energy on the bottom when the soft-landing cylinder is lowered to the seabed. The piston is connected to the housing by a flexible metal element. A flexible metal element is located inside the housing and is configured to transfer electrical contact from the housing to the piston.

EFFECT: efficiency of electrochemical protection of the soft-fit cylinder is increased, the possibility of breaking the permanent electrical contact between the body and the piston in the presence of foreign objects at the bottom is eliminated.
