FIELD: mechanical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of mechanical engineering, in particular, to shock absorption systems of vehicles. The method for damping linear oscillations of the suspension of a vehicle consists in using braking forces occurring in the process of mutual movement of permanent magnets and solid integral closed electrically conductive structural elements as a result of interaction of the magnetic fields of the permanent magnets and the magnetic fields of eddy currents induced as a result of movement in the electrically conductive elements without using external power sources and a control system.
EFFECT: temperature range and operating time of shock absorbers are expanded.
