SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a new method for producing 3,7-bis-(dimethylamino)-phenothiazine-5ii chloride or bromide, as well as to the use of 3,7-dichlorphenothiazine-5-ii chloride as an intermediate compound.
EFFECT: improved method for producing 3,7-bis-(dimethylamino)-phenothiazine-5ii chloride or bromide is proposed, where isolation and/or purification of any intermediate reaction compound is not used after the reaction of phenothiazine with suitable halogen; the method, according to the invention, allows for exclusion of time need for isolation and purification of intermediate compounds, reduction of industrial waste.
