FIELD: mining industry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to methods for crushing brittle material and can be used in the mining industry. The crushing method consists in the fact that crushing is carried out in a cone crusher, in which the destruction of the material occurs between two cones with stops in such a way that when the cone rotates, the stops located on the movable cone come into contact with the crushed piece, the joint rotation of which is prevented by the stops located on the surface of the stationary cone. The working surfaces of the cone stops are located at an angle or angles with normals to the surfaces of these cones, while the destruction of the crushed pieces is carried out by contacting the edges of the cone stops with the crushed pieces in the planes of action of maximum tangential stresses due to shear deformation.
EFFECT: method makes it possible to increase the efficiency of the cone crusher by reducing energy costs for the destruction of the crushed material and, accordingly, the use of engines of lower power, which, in turn, will reduce energy costs.
