SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of medicine, namely to anesthesiology, pediatric neurology, it can be used to select a personalized method of general anesthesia between sevoflurane and propofol for children in neurosurgical treatment. Sevoflurane is injected to a patient, and the concentration of S100B protein in the blood serum is measured. Blood is taken to determine the concentration of S100B protein before induction of anesthesia and 30-40 minutes after sevoflurane supply is turned off. With an increase in the concentration of S100B protein in the blood by 2-3 times from the initial level, the choice of an anesthetic in favor of total intravenous anesthesia with propofol is completed.
EFFECT: method provides the choice of an anesthetic for long, many-hour neurosurgical intervention by determining the level of S100B protein in the blood before and after induction of anesthesia.
