FIELD: car safety.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to a child seat installed in a vehicle and a method for activating a holding element of a child seat. The child seat contains: a seating area, a back section and a holding element. The holding element contains a built-in airbag and/or an airbag, an acceleration recording device and a control device are provided in the seating area. The acceleration recording device serves for recording the child seat acceleration. The control device is made in such a way that the airbag actuation is provided based on the acceleration recorded by the acceleration recording device.
EFFECT: increase in the safety of the child seat.
