FIELD: water supply.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of water supply, in particular to methods of controlling pumping units and is intended to improve the energy efficiency of their operation and to provide protection for the cavitation reserve (NPSH). According to the method, the approximated functions of the pressure-flow characteristic, the hydraulic efficiency and the cavitation margin (NPSH) are constructed for different operating frequencies of the pumping unit according to the data from the pump unit's passport. Based on the specified functions and the results of measurements of the current values of the pressure, power and frequency of operation of pumping units, the energy efficiency of the current operating mode of the system is determined. Further, using these functions, the frequency of operation and possible energy efficiency are determined in the new operating mode, in which one or more additional pumping units are switched on or off in the system. Then the specified new mode of operation is switched, provided that more energy efficient and protection according to NPSH are provided.
EFFECT: increase in the energy efficiency of the pumping units without the need for additional measuring equipment, a simplification of the method, and an increase in the safety of work.
