SUBSTANCE: method for monitoring the power consumption of equipment for oil and gas production includes: receiving on the server parametric data from sensors located on the well and/or metering unit to determine the well flow rate; obtaining from the database information about the diameters of the well and the submersible electric motor (SEM), determining the threshold value of the flow rate, comparing on the server the values of the well flow rate measured in real time, with threshold values, for wells in which the flow rate exceeds the threshold value, the equipment operating parameters are simulated using a digital twin, the remote settings of the equipment control station and/or its operating modes are changed, and the result is sent to display data on wells in which the equipment the well is subject to optimization or replacement.

EFFECT: improving the efficiency of identifying oil and gas production equipment that needs optimization or replacement by using individual digital twins only for those wells that have a flow rate not lower than the specified one, and taking into account the diameter of the submersible electric motor.
