FIELD: aircraft controlling mechanisms.
SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to mechanisms for controlling aircraft aerodynamic surfaces and also concerns devices that prevent damage to the mechanisms. A mechanism for actuating control surfaces is proposed, comprising a drive for turning the aerodynamic surface from a folded state into an operating state relative to a horizontal axis and an electric control drive with a ball-screw transmission, which rotates the aerodynamic surface about a vertical axis, characterized in that the mechanism is additionally equipped with a spring brake. The spring brake performs the function of reducing the shock loads on the ball screws (BS) and is a spring-loaded piston with a fork that keeps the vertical axis from rotation and the lock. The lock is a pin, which is connected to the horizontal axis through a cable and when it is turned by a cable it is pulled out of the piston, freeing it from the brake body. In this case, the piston fork disengages from the vertical axis, and the piston, moving under the action of a compressed spring, activates a limit switch, which turns on the electric drive of the ball screw.
EFFECT: due to the presence of distinctive features in combination with the known ones, it is possible to prevent damage to the ball screw transmission by shock loads.
