FIELD: measuring.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of measuring the proportion of petroleum associated gas in crude petroleum, products of petroleum boreholes, including before or after separation, by measuring units (automated group metering units), and can be applied in the petroleum industry. A method consisting in measuring the change in the density of crude petroleum during degassing. A sample of crude petroleum is therein automatically collected into a measuring container to a preset level, the density of crude petroleum is determined by measuring the hydrostatic pressure in the container. The petroleum is degassed, the hydrostatic pressure is re-measured and the density of petroleum is determined after degassing, having determined the difference in the densities of petroleum before and after degassing, knowing the volume of the container and the density of the gas calculated during measurement, the amount of associated petroleum gas per unit weight or volume of crude petroleum is determined.
EFFECT: ensured high accuracy of determining the proportion of petroleum (associated) gas in crude petroleum in automatic mode.
