FIELD: oil and gas industry.

SUBSTANCE: method for determining the proportion of residual free and dissolved gas in crude oil at metering station comprises measuring mass and density of crude oil, previously separated from gas in liquid line of separator, and determining proportion of free and dissolved gas in crude oil. According to method, a predetermined number of individual crude oil samples is obtained additionally from the liquid line of separator in an open vessel for a certain time using automatic sample thief. Simultaneously, when obtaining a single sample, the density of crude oil in liquid line of separator is measured. At the end of the measurement time, open vessel with the pooled crude oil sample is weighed, the average weight of individual crude oil sample and the average weight value of individual crude oil sample, measured by scale, and proportion of free and dissolved gas in crude oil is determined by given mathematical expression.

EFFECT: ensuring high accuracy in determining the proportion of residual free and dissolved gas in crude oil after separation in automatic mode without measuring volume ratio of fossil water.
