The control apparatus for an electronic aerosol-providing system is configured to receiving a replaceable component in order to form an electronic aerosol-providing system, receive an identifier from the replaceable component located in the control apparatus. The control apparatus for an electronic aerosol-providing system is configured to change one or several parameters of the path for the air flow through the electronic aerosol-providing system, depending on the received identifier. The one or several parameters of the passage of the air flow through the electronic aerosol-providing system comprise resistance during drawing. Also disclosed are an electronic aerosol-providing system and a method for operation of the control apparatus for an electronic aerosol-providing system.
