SUBSTANCE: invention relates to an image forming apparatus for forming an electrophotographic image, a process cartridge and a drum unit. The cartridge comprises a photosensitive drum having an L1 axis, a connecting element having an L2 axis and operatively connected to an end portion of said photosensitive drum, said connecting element being provided with a protrusion extending from said photosensitive drum, and a frame rotatably supporting said photosensitive drum. In this case, the connecting element is movable along the L2 axis between the first position and the second position, and in this case, in the direction of the L1 axis, the protrusion is closer to the photosensitive drum when the protrusion is in the second position than the location of the protrusion relative to the photosensitive drum when the protrusion is in the first position, and the said protrusion has an outer surface facing from the axis L2, wherein at least a part of the outer surface increases in distance from the axis L2 as the distance from the photosensitive drum increases in the direction of the axis L1, and the apex is the part of said connecting element farthest from said photosensitive drum and is part of said protrusion, the very remote from the L2 axis.
