FIELD: medicine; brachytherapy.
SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to the field of brachytherapy; it can be used for the treatment of cancerous tumors. A brachytherapy device is proposed, containing: substrate having an outer surface and manufactured with the possibility of introduction into the subject’s body, where an inner polymer layer contains inner polymer and covers the outer surface of substrate; a set of atoms of radionuclide that undergoes radioactive decay to form daughter radionuclide, associated with the inner polymer layer; wherein the inner polymer layer allows daughter radionuclide to diffuse through it; and an outer polymer layer contains outer polymer and covers atoms in such a way that to protect atoms from leaching, and at the same time allows daughter radionuclide to diffuse through the outer polymer layer, where outer polymer differs from inner polymer. A method for manufacturing a brachytherapy device and a method for brachytherapy using a brachytherapy device are proposed.
EFFECT: use of the invention provides a high probability of desorption of daughter radionuclide from substrate.
