FIELD: radiation therapy.

SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to radiation therapy and production of alpha-sources for it. Disclosed is a method of accumulating radium radionuclides, which involves obtaining a first solution containing thorium radionuclides and a thorium-binding extractant, where the first solution does not bind radium. Radium atoms obtained as a result of the decay of thorium radionuclides diffuse from the first solution. Possibility of decay into radium atoms of part of radionuclides of thorium in first solution, possibility of diffusion of radium atoms from the first solution and collection of radium atoms obtained as a result of decay, which diffused from the first solution. Also disclosed is a method of producing a source for brachytherapy.

EFFECT: complete collection of radium and improved quality of the brachytherapy source.
