FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of medicine, namely to otorhinolaryngology. Using a 7-watt CO2 laser, the mucous membrane of the upper surface of the vocal cord is longitudinally incised in a continuous mode in the area of the posterior third thereof at a step of 2 to 3 mm from the edge thereof. The mucous membrane of the posterior third of the vestibular fold is then longitudinally incised at a step of 2 to 3 mm from the edge thereof. Then the mucous membrane lining the Morgagni ventricle and located between the two incisions is removed. The posterior third of the vocal muscle is then excised by a laser, preserving the mucous membrane on the inferior surface of the vocal cord. Then the vocal process of the arytenoid cartilage is resected. The preserved flap of the mucous membrane of the vocal fold with the excised vocal process of the arytenoid cartilage is sutured to the vestibular fold in the area of the incision.
EFFECT: method provides a possibility of increasing the glottal lumen and maintaining a socially acceptable voice, the dividing function of the larynx, freedom of breathing.
