FIELD: oil refining.
SUBSTANCE: process of fluid catalytic cracking provides the conversion of heavy fractions of crude oil into lighter hydrocarbon products at high temperature and moderate pressure in the presence of a catalyst. During this process, the catalyst particles remain trapped by the descending gas flow. Spiral inlet into the cyclone can be used to prevent the ingress of gas and trapped particles into the gas outlet pipe. A refractory material can be applied to the inner part of the cyclone wall to form an abrasive-resistant lining in order to isolate the cyclone walls from the effects of particles contained in the gas stream. The feed rate of raw materials can be used as a predictive factor to determine the wear rate of cyclones.
EFFECT: ability to predict the erosion of the lining so that it is possible to restore or replace the lining during scheduled preventive maintenance.
