SUBSTANCE: inventions relate to a method and apparatus for reducing the pressure in a gas flow. Described is a method for reducing the pressure of an exhaust gas flow, including passing the exhaust gas flow under pressure into a vessel, wherein the vessel comprises a solid particle layer, a gas inlet channel communicating with a catalyst regenerator at the inlet end, and an outlet end of said inlet channel, communicating with said solid particle layer; adding solid particles to said solid particle layer through the solid particle inlet in said vessel, said solid particle inlet is located in the part of the vessel that does not receive the exhaust gas flow, said solid particle inlet is located in the annular space formed between the gas inlet channel passing into said vessel and the wall of said vessel; passing the exhaust gas flow under pressure through the solid particle layer in the vessel in order to reduce the pressure of the exhaust gas flow; and releasing the exhaust gas flow from the vessel under a lower pressure. Described is an apparatus for reducing the pressure of an exhaust gas flow, including a vessel containing a solid particle layer; a gas inlet channel communicating with a catalyst regenerator at the inlet end, and an outlet end of said inlet channel communicating with said solid particle layer; a gas outlet channel communicating with said solid particle layer at the inlet end; a solid particle inlet in said vessel for adding solid particles to said solid particle layer; a solid particle outlet in said vessel for removing solid particles from said solid particle layer; a solid particle outlet located in the annular space formed between the gas outlet channel passing into the vessel and the wall of the vessel; said solid particle layer between the outlet end of the inlet channel and the inlet end of the outlet channel.

EFFECT: reduction in the pressure of exhaust gas.
