FIELD: driving axles of vehicles.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to driving axles of vehicles. The car driving axle housing obtained by cast iron casting comprises interconnected in a single casting housing, a rear cover, a left and a right shell, a left and a right trunnion. The crankcase has a variable cross-section, and in the longitudinal section has a variable wall thickness and shelves throughout the length of the crankcase. The thickness of the lower flange is significantly greater than the upper shelf and the side walls.
EFFECT: reduced weight of the drive axle housing while maintaining its overall dimensions and strength characteristics.
