FIELD: nuclear energy.
SUBSTANCE: dual-purpose container for transportation and storage of spent nuclear fuel includes cast housing, neutron protection. Wall of cast housing is filled with solid-wall-forming neutron-protective barrier from material with melting point higher than melting temperature of material of housing, coefficient of thermal conductivity higher than that of cast housing material, density lower than that of cast housing material, capable of slowing and absorption of neutrons. In neutron-protective barrier there are longitudinal channels, longitudinal channels are filled with material characterized by shorter free path of fast neutrons than material of neutron-protective barrier.
EFFECT: invention increases fabricability of production, reduces weight of liquid cast iron.
