SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to medicine, namely, to pharmacology, and can be used to produce abuse-resistant pharmaceutical compositions. The composition according to the invention comprises multiple balls ensuring immediate release of hydrocodone bitartrate, containing substantially no polyethylene oxide, multiple balls ensuring controlled release of hydrocodone bitartrate, containing substantially no polyethylene oxide, and multiple balls containing a gelling agent. The balls containing the gelling agent comprise polyethylene oxide, povidone, and a permeable or semi-permeable coating selected from a group consisting of an ammonium-methacrylate copolymer, a methacrylic acid copolymer, and a mixture thereof. The group of inventions also relates to an application of the composition and a method for production thereof.

EFFECT: use of the inventions allows for a reduction in the possibility of abuse of the active ingredient of the composition – hydrocodone bitartrate, due to the formation of a viscous mass.
