FIELD: petroleum industry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method for purifying benzene and benzene fraction from sulphur and unsaturated compounds, consisting in passing the purified stream through a layer of adsorbents based on natural active clay with applied metals selected from copper, zinc, cobalt, molybdenum, nickel, iron, silver, or a mixture thereof, with a total content of metals of 3 to 20 wt.%, or a mixture of said adsorbent with active natural clay at a ratio of 10 to 90%, or a mixture of natural clay with an adsorbent based on copper, zinc, nickel oxides at a ratio of 10 to 90%.
EFFECT: purification from olefin hydrocarbons and the entire spectrum of sulphur compounds to a residual content of no more than 0.1 ppm wt. is provided therein.
