FIELD: grinding.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method for grinding, usable in the food industry for grinding, e.g., meat, vegetables, cheeses, butter. The method for grinding a mass is implemented in a grinding apparatus wherein the mass is supplied into the grinding apparatus through a loading hopper and moved to a rotating working screw by means of a supply screw. The working screw transfers the mass towards the cutting unit used to grind the mass. The supply screw is therein initially rotated in a first direction, and in the production process, the direction of rotation of the supply screw is periodically reversed.
EFFECT: method increases the service life of the grinding apparatus while maintaining the power consumption productivity.
