SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of biotechnology; it can be used for the selection of epitopes for antibodies. A method includes selection of protease and proteolysis conditions; production of protein-containing proteoliposomes; partial proteolysis of the specified protein; detection of cleaved peptides by liquid chromatography with tandem mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS); identification of an antigenic epitope by identifying an epitope exposed on the surface among at least one peptide exposed on the surface, present in the region of the specified protein, which leads to the loss or significant change in the biological function of the specified protein, when the specified peptide is cleaved or removed from the specified protein during partial proteolysis; or the selection of at least one target region in the specified protein based on bioinformatic data and/or known data on the biological function of the specified protein, and the identification of an antigenic epitope by identifying an epitope exposed on the surface among at least one peptide exposed on the surface, present in the specified at least one target region.

EFFECT: invention provides for the production of an antibody against the specified antigenic epitope.
