FIELD: ropes.
SUBSTANCE: rope is intended for equipping hoisting and thrust mechanisms of the bucket of walking excavators, wherein the excavator rope consists of a double-wound metal core with eight strands are wound around said core, wherein the strands of the rope are wound in two process operations: first, band touch type winding of the central part of the strand with the drafting degree of the cross-sectional area of 5.0 to 7.5% in three concentric layers, wherein the amount of steel wires in the second and third layers is equal but twice more than in the first layer, and the second layer is made of alternating steel wires of different diameters; the second operation is band touch type winding of the steel wires in two subsequent layers around the central part with the drafting degree of the cross-sectional area of 8.0 to 10.5%; the ratio of the diameter D to the diameter of a strand of the rope d is , to produce a wear-resistant rope with high flexibility, lower contact stresses, and a high strength.
EFFECT: creation of rope suitable for use on walking excavators.
