FIELD: shipbuilding.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to shipbuilding, in particular to determining the shape of ship hull fore end. A number of forms of ship hull fore end is set, models are tested with given forms of the ship hull fore end. Using the obtained hydrodynamic characteristics of the models, they carry out mathematical modeling of the pitching of the vessel in conditions of the capture of the fore end by the wave, changing the shape of the fore end. For a ship with a given shape of the fore end, a transformed diagram of the ship's static stability and a heeling moment diagram are built. Comparing the diagrams of the vessel with different shapes of the fore end, the optimal shape of the fore end of the vessel is selected.
EFFECT: invention allows creation of safer hulls of ships in the conditions of capture the fore end by the wave.
