FIELD: microwave equipment.
SUBSTANCE: waveguide 3 dB adder - divider refers to the microwave technique and can be used in the output stages of power amplifiers used in transmitters for various purposes to increase the output power. A waveguide 3 dB adder-divider containing two rectangular waveguides made with the possibility of receiving a microwave signal from output amplifiers, a receiving summing rectangular waveguide. In this case, the adder contains transverse probes that provide communication with the receiving rectangular waveguides, while the device is made with the possibility of transmitting a microwave signal from the output amplifier via rectangular waveguides to the receiving part of the waveguide 3 dB adder and with the possibility of transmitting a signal through the probe to the output part of the adder, with the possibility of matching in the output part by setting the distance from the exciting probes to the short-circuited wall of the summing part of the waveguide multiple of the working wavelength, and the device is made with the possibility of matching the waveguide resistance by changing the length of the probe, with the possibility of adjusting the waveguide adder in the frequency band due to the position of the probe relative to the short-circuited wall and its length.
EFFECT: ensuring reliable summation of power from the output microwave amplifiers in the order of hundreds and thousands of watts.
