FIELD: methods of protecting documents.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to security features and use thereof to protect documents and articles from counterfeit, specifically to photoluminescent materials based on iron-doped barium stannate, which absorbs ultraviolet (UV) light and exhibits strong luminescence in the near infrared (NIR) region. Material is characterized by concentration of ferric cation (Fe3+) 10–500 wt parts per million and particle size distribution, defined by d(0.9), from 3 to 15 mcm, as measured by light scattering.
EFFECT: high integral photoluminescence intensity is provided.
