FIELD: woodworking industry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of woodworking and concerns chipboard (10) and its manufacturing method. The chipboard includes: inner layer (2) formed from resin-coated wood particles with a large particle size; at least one surface layer (1, 4) formed from resin-coated wood particles, where at least one surface layer (1, 4) contains wood particles with particle sizes smaller than particle sizes of inner layer (2); and at least one intermediate layer (3, 5) located between surface layer (1, 4) and inner layer (2), where intermediate layer (3, 5) is made of non-resin impregnated paper or perforated plastic sheet material, and at least one intermediate layer (3, 5) has a surface density in the range from 5 to 600 g/m2 and a thickness in the range from 0.05 to 3 mm.
EFFECT: invention provides for the production of a chipboard of low total weight with a thin surface layer with a smooth surface.
