FIELD: accelerator technology.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to accelerator technology, namely to devices for changing the final energy of the beam, as well as to radiation therapy with elementary particles. The proton beam is injected into an orbit parallel to the original beam orbit using a first pair of deflecting magnets, the deflection being linearly dependent on the field amplitude in the magnets. Then the beam passes through the wedge-shaped absorber, as a result of which it loses a predetermined portion of its energy. Then, with the help of the second pair of magnets, the beam is returned to the original trajectory.

EFFECT: reduction of the time for regulating the energy of the proton beam.
